Function and Efficacy
Dydrogesterone is an oral progestin that can cause the endometrium to enter a complete secretory phase, thereby preventing the risk of endometrial hyperplasia and cancer caused by estrogen. Dydrogesterone can be used for various diseases with insufficient endogenous progesterone. Dydrogesterone has no estrogenic, androgenic, or adrenocortical effects. Dydrogesterone does not produce heat and has no effect on lipid metabolism.

The main ingredient of this product is dydrogesterone, with the chemical name: 9beta;,10alpha;-pregnane-4,6-diene-3,20-dione, and the molecular formula: C21H28O2.

Indication
This product is mainly used for acute craniocerebral trauma and impaired consciousness after brain surgery.
Usage and Dosage
Dysmenorrhea: Take 1 tablet of dydrogesterone (10 mg as dydrogesterone) orally twice a day from the 5th to 25th day of the menstrual cycle. Endometriosis: Take 1 tablet of dydrogesterone (10 mg as dydrogesterone) orally 2-3 times a day from the 5th to 25th day of the menstrual cycle. Dosage for functional bleeding: Take 1 tablet of dydrogesterone (10 mg as dydrogesterone) orally twice a day for 5-7 consecutive days. Dosage for preventing bleeding: Take 1 tablet of dydrogesterone (10 mg as dydrogesterone) orally twice a day from the 11th to 25th day of the menstrual cycle. Amenorrhea: Take estradiol once a day from the 1st to 25th day of the menstrual cycle. Combined with dydrogesterone, take 1 tablet (10 mg as dydrogesterone) twice a day from the 11th to 25th day of the menstrual cycle. For premenstrual syndrome, take dydrogesterone orally twice a day, 1 tablet (10 mg as dydrogesterone) each time, from the 11th to the 25th day of the menstrual cycle. For irregular menstruation, take dydrogesterone orally twice a day, 1 tablet (10 mg as dydrogesterone) each time, from the 11th to the 25th day of the menstrual cycle. For threatened abortion, the starting dose is 4 tablets of dydrogesterone (40 mg as dydrogesterone) taken orally once, followed by 1 tablet of dydrogesterone (10 mg as dydrogesterone) every 8 hours until the symptoms disappear. For habitual abortion, take dydrogesterone orally twice a day, 1 tablet (10 mg as dydrogesterone) each time, until the 20th week of pregnancy. For infertility caused by insufficient endogenous progesterone, take 1 tablet (10 mg as dydrogesterone) orally daily from the 14th to the 25th day of the menstrual cycle. Treatment should last for at least 6 consecutive cycles. It is recommended to continue this method of treatment in the first few months of pregnancy. The dosage should refer to the dosage for the treatment of habitual abortion.
Adverse Reactions
Very few patients may experience breakthrough bleeding, which can usually be prevented by increasing the dose. Dydrogesterone may also cause other adverse reactions that occur during progestin therapy, such as slight bleeding, changes in menstrual blood volume, amenorrhea; discomfort, vomiting, abdominal pain; changes in liver function, jaundice (rare); breast pain; itching, skin allergies, urticaria, depression, headache, migraine, mental tension; edema; changes in libido.
Precautions
Dydrogesterone, like all progestin products, should not be used in the following situations: unexplained vaginal bleeding; severe functional disorders: liver tumors (current or past history), Dubin-Johnson syndrome, Potor syndrome, jaundice; diseases or symptoms that occur or worsen during pregnancy or when using sex hormones, such as severe pruritus, obstructive jaundice, herpes during pregnancy, porphyria and otosclerosis; those with known allergy to dydrogesterone.

Drug Interactions
There is no data on the interaction between dydrogesterone and other drugs. When dydrogesterone is used in combination with estrogen, if abnormal liver function, thromboembolism or a significant increase in blood pressure occurs, the drug should be discontinued.
