Indication
Depressive episode (ie, classic)
Usage and Dosage
-The recommended dose is three times a day: one tablet (containing 12.5 mg of tianeptine sodium) at a time, taken orally before three meals (morning, noon, and evening). -For patients with chronic alcoholism, whether or not there is cirrhosis, there is no need to change the dose. -For patients over 70 years old and patients with renal insufficiency, the dose should be limited to two tablets per day, or as directed by a doctor.
Adverse Reactions
Rare, generally not serious: - epigastric pain, abdominal pain, dry mouth, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, flatulence; - insomnia, drowsiness, nightmares, weakness; - tachycardia, extrasystoles, precordial pain; - dizziness, headache, syncope, tremor, facial flushing; - shortness of breath, feeling of throat blockage; - myalgia, back pain, etc.
Precautions
- Those who are allergic to this product or any of its ingredients; - Children under 15 years old; - Used in combination with MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) drugs; - MAOI drugs must be discontinued for two weeks before starting tianeptine treatment. Patients who originally took tianeptine and switched to MAOI drugs only need to stop taking tianeptine for 24 hours.
Drug Interactions
- Combined use with non-selective MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) drugs: There is a risk of cardiovascular disease or paroxysmal hypertension, hyperthermia, convulsions, and death.
