Berberine Tannate Tablets for Children
Function and Efficacy
Berberine tannate decomposes into berberine and tannic acid in the intestines. The former has antibacterial effects, while the latter has astringent effects. Berberine has antibacterial effects and has inhibitory effects on a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria in vitro, among which it has a strong inhibitory effect on hemolytic streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholerae, meningococci, Shigella, Salmonella typhi, and Corynebacterium diphtheriae. In vitro tests have confirmed that berberine can enhance the phagocytic ability of white blood cells and the reticuloendothelial system of the liver. Shigella, hemolytic streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, etc. are very susceptible to drug resistance.
