Deferoxamine Mesylate for Injection
Indication
Single iron chelates for the treatment of chronic iron overload, acute iron poisoning, aluminum overload in dialysis patients, and for the diagnosis of iron or aluminum overload.
Usage and Dosage
It depends on individual conditions, indications and severity of the condition. Dosage range: Chronic iron overload 20-60 mg/kg body weight/day. Acute iron poisoning does not exceed 80 mg/kg body weight/day. Chronic aluminum overload 5 mg/kg body weight, once a week. Iron overload test 500 mg, aluminum overload intravenous drip test 5 mg/kg body weight.
Adverse Reactions
Common injection site symptoms, often accompanied by arthralgia, myalgia, headache, urticaria and fever; developmental delay and thigh changes are uncommon; rare visual and visual impairment; rare acute respiratory distress syndrome; dizziness, dialysis encephalopathy; peripheral sensory, motor or mixed neuropathy; renal impairment; abnormal blood count; generalized rash, allergic/anaphylactoid reactions, susceptibility to Yersinia and mucormycosis.
Precautions
Patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance are excluded from subsequent treatment.
