Soft Soap

This product is a detergent that concentrates at the water-oil interface and has emulsifying properties, so it has a cleaning function.

This product is made by saponifying suitable vegetable oil with potassium hydroxide.

This product is a yellow-white, yellow-brown or yellow-green, transparent or translucent, uniform, sticky soft mass; it has a slight peculiar odor; its aqueous solution shows an alkaline reaction when it comes into contact with phenolphthalein indicator solution.

This product is used to remove scabs and scalp scales in chronic scaly skin diseases (such as psoriasis), as an enema for constipation, as a mild anti-irritant for sprains and bruises, and to cleanse the skin.

Enema is prepared with one part soft soap and 20 parts warm water. The usual dosage for adults is 600ml. Soft soap liniment is applied to sprains and contusions 2 to 3 times a day as a mild anti-irritant.
