Function and Efficacy
This product is a pyrimidine antiviral drug that can competitively inhibit phosphorylase, especially DNA polymerase, with thymidine nucleoside, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of thymidine nucleoside in viral DNA, or replacing thymidine nucleoside to penetrate into viral DNA, producing defective DNA, making it lose its infectivity or unable to recombine, so that the virus stops reproducing or loses its activity and is inhibited.
Ingredients
The main component of this product is iodine glycoside, and its chemical name is 2'-deoxy-5-iodouridine. Molecular formula: C9H11IN2O5, molecular weight: 354.10.

Appearance
This product is a colorless clear liquid.
Indication
Used for herpes simplex keratitis, vaccinia virus keratitis and herpes zoster virus infection.
Usage and Dosage
Place 1 to 2 drops into the conjunctival sac, once every 1 to 2 hours.
Adverse Reactions
Adverse reactions may occur, such as photophobia, local congestion, edema, itching or pain, and allergic eyelid edema. Long-term use may cause contact dermatitis, punctate keratopathy, follicular conjunctivitis, and punctal occlusion.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to this product and iodine preparations are prohibited from using this product. This product can penetrate the placenta. Animal experiments can cause abnormalities in rabbit fetuses and chromosomal aberrations in mice. It has not been confirmed in humans. There is also a lack of information on whether it can be secreted from the mammary gland. Therefore, pregnant women and lactating women should not use it.

Drug Interactions
