Function and Efficacy
The vasodilation effect is similar to that of nitroglycerin, but the effect is faster. It releases nitric oxide (NO), which is the same as endothelial relaxing factor, activates guanylate cyclase, increases cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in smooth muscle and other tissues, and leads to vasodilation; it can also dilate peripheral veins, store blood in peripheral veins, reduce left ventricular end pressure and reduce coronary blood flow resistance during diastole, and dilate peripheral arterioles to reduce peripheral resistance and blood pressure, thereby reducing myocardial oxygen consumption and relieving angina pectoris. It also has the effect of relieving cyanide toxicity. Its mechanism is the same as that of sodium nitrite, oxidizing divalent iron (Fe2) in hemoglobin to trivalent iron (Fe3), and Fe3 then combines with cyanide (CN-) to form methemoglobin, temporarily delaying the toxicity of cyanide. Sodium nitrite and sodium thiosulfate need to be injected immediately. It takes effect 30 seconds after inhalation and lasts for 3 to 5 minutes. After taking the medicine, the heart rate increases, blood pressure decreases, and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure decreases.

Indication
Treat cyanide poisoning and acute attacks of angina pectoris.
Usage and Dosage
Wrap the ampoule in a layer of handkerchief or gauze, break it, and inhale the product through the nasal cavity for 15 seconds each time. Cyanide poisoning: 0.3-0.4ml (1-2 sticks) at a time, repeat once every 2-3 minutes, and the total amount should not exceed 1-1.2ml (5-6 sticks). Angina pectoris attack: 0.2ml (1 stick) at a time.
Adverse Reactions
It often causes flushing, headache and dizziness, nausea and vomiting, hypotension, restlessness and tachycardia.
Precautions
This product can increase intraocular and intracranial pressure and is contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, recent brain trauma or cerebral hemorrhage.
