Calcium Dobesilate Capsules

Pharmacological action: As a vascular protective agent, Daoshengming mainly acts in the following three aspects: 1) Microvascular wall---increase resistance and reduce its pathological high permeability; 2) Blood flow---reduce blood and plasma viscosity, reduce high platelet aggregation, and prevent thrombosis. 3) For microvascular lesions, Daoshengming eliminates or alleviates its clinical signs (edema, capillary oozing, heaviness and pressure in the lower limbs). Toxicology: The LD50 value of intravenous administration in mice is about 715mg/kg, and the LD50 value of oral administration in mice and rats is less than 4000mg/kg. Embryotoxicity and mutagenicity experiments show no toxicity.

Rare gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea and diarrhea, skin reactions, fever and arthralgia have been reported. Granulocytopenia has been reported occasionally. Patients who develop gastrointestinal disturbances should reduce the dose or temporarily discontinue the drug. Patients who develop skin reactions and fever, arthralgia and changes in blood cell counts should discontinue the drug and notify the treating physician as an allergic reaction.

Precautions for children: See the Dosage and Administration section. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: It is not clear whether calcium dobesilate passes the human placental barrier, so the pros and cons should be weighed when using this drug. Calcium dobesilate can be present in trace amounts in breast milk (0.4ug/ml in breast milk after administration of 1500mg). For the sake of caution, medication should be stopped or breastfeeding should be discontinued. Precautions for the elderly: See the Dosage and Administration section.

No interactions with other drugs have been found. Therapeutic doses of calcium dobesilate may interfere with the determination of creatinine (extremely low values) (PAP method).
