Zopiclone tablets

Function and Efficacy

The conventional dose of this product has sedative, hypnotic and muscle relaxant effects. It acts on benzodiazepine receptors, but the binding mode is different from that of benzodiazepine drugs. This product is a fast-acting hypnotic that can prolong sleep time, improve sleep quality, and reduce the number of night awakenings and early awakenings. The characteristic of this product is low residual effect the next morning.

Ingredients

Main ingredient: Zopiclone. Its chemical name is: 6-(5-chloropyridin-2-yl)-7-[(4-methylpiperazine-1-yl)carbonyloxy]-5,6-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-b]pyrazine-5-one. Its structural formula is: Molecular formula: C17H17ClN6O3 Molecular weight: 388.81

Appearance

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the film coating.

Indication

Insomnia. Especially suitable for patients who cannot tolerate the residual effect of the next morning.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration, 7.5 mg each time, once a day, before going to bed. The elderly should initially take 3.75 mg before going to bed, and 7.5 mg if necessary. For those with liver and kidney dysfunction, 3.75 mg is appropriate.

Adverse Reactions

It is related to the dose and the sensitivity of the patient. Occasionally, drowsiness, bitter taste in the mouth, dry mouth, muscle weakness, amnesia, and drunkenness may occur. Some people experience abnormal irritability, aggressiveness, irritability, or mental confusion, headache, and fatigue. Sudden discontinuation of medication after long-term use may cause withdrawal symptoms (which appear faster due to the short half-life of the drug), and there may be mild agitation, anxiety, myalgia, tremor, rebound insomnia and nightmares, nausea and vomiting, and rarely severe spasms, muscle tremors, and confusion (often secondary to milder symptoms).

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product, patients with decompensated respiratory insufficiency, myasthenia gravis, and severe sleep apnea syndrome.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Children under 15 years old should not use this product. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Use with caution during pregnancy. Due to the high concentration of this product in breast milk, it is not suitable for lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Follow the doctor's advice.

Drug Interactions

1. Taking it together with neuromuscular blockers (tubocurarine, muscle relaxants) or other central nervous system depressants can enhance the sedative effect; 2. Taking it together with benzodiazepine anxiolytics and hypnotics can increase the occurrence of withdrawal syndrome.
