Function and Efficacy
Loratadine is an oral, long-acting tricyclic antihistamine that selectively resists peripheral H1 receptors. As a third-generation antihistamine, it has the characteristics of rapid onset and strong effects. Studies on guinea pigs have shown that the duration of action of this product is 18-24 hours, and studies on central effects have shown that this product has little or no inhibitory or anticholinergic effects on mice, rats, dogs and monkeys. No obvious teratogenic effects were found in animal experiments.

This product is white or off-white tablets
Indication
It is used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, nasal congestion, and itchy and burning eyes. After oral administration, nasal and eye symptoms and signs are quickly relieved. It is also suitable for relieving symptoms and signs of chronic urticaria, itchy skin diseases and other allergic skin diseases.
Usage and Dosage
Take after chewing. Adults and children over 12 years old: 2 tablets (10 mg) once a day. Children aged 2 to 12 years old: 30 kg: 2 tablets (10 mg) once a day. Weight < 30 kg: 1 tablet (5 mg) once a day.
Adverse Reactions
In controlled clinical trials, loratadine did not demonstrate clinically significant sedation or anticholinergic effects, the incidence of which was similar to placebo, and reports of somnolence, dry mouth, weight gain, fatigue, headache, and nausea were rare.
Precautions
Patients who have allergic reactions or special physical conditions to this product are prohibited from using it.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: The safety and efficacy of loratadine for children under 2 years old have not yet been determined. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: So far, there is no clinical data on the use of loratadine in pregnant women; in addition, loratadine can be secreted from breast milk, and histamine is more dangerous to infants, especially newborns and premature infants. Therefore, pregnant and lactating women should use this product with caution. Precautions for the elderly: There is no significant difference in the distribution of loratadine in elderly patients over 60 years old compared with young adult patients.
Drug Interactions
Clinical trials have shown that when healthy adults take loratadine (10 mg), therapeutic doses of erythromycin, carmitidine and other drugs at the same time, the blood concentration of this product and its metabolites increases slightly, and there is no obvious change in its absorption, distribution and metabolism.
