Indication
It is used for patients who have iron accumulation due to the need for long-term blood transfusions (such as those with thalassemia or other rare anemias). It is suitable for children over two years old and adults.
Usage and Dosage
Patients with iron accumulation, such as those who require long-term blood transfusions (blood transfusion volume up to 100 ml/kg) and serum ferritin over 1000 μg/L, are recommended to take 20 mg/kg of deferasirox daily in the initial stage according to body weight. Depending on the improvement of serum ferritin indicators, patients may need to adjust or increase the dose of deferasirox, generally in units of 5 mg/kg or 10 mg/kg, but the total dose should not exceed 30 mg/kg per day.
