Oxytocin for injection

This product is a polypeptide hormone uterine contraction drug. 1. It stimulates the contraction of uterine smooth muscles, simulates the uterine contraction effect of normal delivery, causes the cervix to dilate, and the uterus's response to oxytocin gradually increases during pregnancy, reaching a peak at full term. 2. It stimulates the contraction of mammary smooth muscles, helps milk to be discharged from the breast, but does not increase the amount of milk secretion of the mammary gland.

The main ingredient of this product is oxytocin. Structural formula: This product is a peptide chain consisting of 9 amino acids containing a disulfide bond. H-Cys-Tyr-Ile-Glu(NH2)-Asp(NH2)-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2

Used for inducing labor, accelerating labor, and treating uterine bleeding caused by weak or poor uterine contractions after delivery and abortion; understanding the placental reserve function (oxytocin stimulation test).

1. Inducing or accelerating labor, intravenous drip, 2.5 to 5 units at a time, diluted with sodium chloride injection to contain 0.01 units per 1 ml. At the beginning of intravenous drip, no more than 0.001 to 0.002 units per minute, increase by 0.001 to 0.002 units every 15 to 30 minutes until uterine contractions are similar to those during normal labor, and the fastest is no more than 0.02 units per minute, usually 0.002 to 0.005 units per minute. 2. Control postpartum bleeding, intravenous drip 0.02 to 0.04 units per minute, and 5 to 10 units can be injected intramuscularly after the placenta is expelled.

Occasionally, nausea, vomiting, increased heart rate or arrhythmia may occur. High doses may cause high blood pressure or water retention.

It is contraindicated for patients with narrow pelvis, obstructed birth canal, obvious cephalopelvic disproportion and transverse presentation. It should be used with caution for patients with a history of cesarean section, myomectomy and breech presentation.

1. When cyclopropane and other hydrocarbons are inhaled for general anesthesia, the use of oxytocin can cause hypotension, sinus bradycardia or (and) atrioventricular dysrhythmia in the parturient. When enflurane concentration is >1.5% and halothane concentration is >1.0% during inhalation general anesthesia, the effect of the uterus on oxytocin is weakened. Enflurane concentration >3.0% can eliminate the reaction and may cause uterine bleeding. 2. When other uterotonic drugs are used simultaneously with oxytocin, the uterine tension may be too high, resulting in uterine rupture or (and) cervical tear.
