Function and Efficacy

Pharmacology: Macromolecular polyethylene glycol (4000) is a linear long-chain polymer that fixes water molecules through hydrogen bonds, retaining water in the colon, increasing the water content of stool and softening the stool, restoring the volume and weight of stool to normal, and promoting the final completion of defecation, thereby improving constipation symptoms.

Appearance

This product is a white powder with a citrus scent.

Indication

Symptomatic treatment of constipation in adults.

Usage and Dosage

Suitable for adults. Take 1 bag each time, 1-2 times a day, or 2 bags a day, all at once. Dissolve the contents of each bag in a glass of water before taking. Fusong will take effect 24-48 hours after taking it.

Adverse Reactions

- When taking a large dose, diarrhea may occur, which will disappear within 24-48 hours after stopping the drug, and then the dose can be reduced to continue treatment - Rare allergic reactions, such as rash, urticaria and edema. For patients with intestinal disorders, abdominal pain may occur. - Abdominal distension and nausea have been reported occasionally.

Precautions

This drug is contraindicated in the following cases: - severe inflammatory bowel disease (hemorrhagic colitis, Crohn's disease) - intestinal obstruction or suspected intestinal obstruction - undiagnosed abdominal pain - known hypersensitivity to polyethylene glycol or other components of fosun (rash, urticaria, edema) - perforation or risk of perforation

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: No safety studies have been reported. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Pregnant women: Animal studies have confirmed that polyethylene glycol 4000 has no teratogenic effect. There have been no reports of miscarriage or teratogenicity in clinical applications at home and abroad for several years. Due to medical ethics reasons, there is currently no clinical research data on the safety of polyethylene glycol 4000 for pregnant women. Therefore, during pregnancy, this product must be used under the guidance of a doctor. 2. Lactating women: Oral polyethylene glycol 4000 will not be absorbed by the digestive tract. There is no data showing that polyethylene glycol 4000 can enter breast milk. Therefore, this product can be taken during lactation. Precautions for the elderly: There is no experience of elderly patients using polyethylene glycol 4000.

Drug Interactions

In a study of possible drug interactions in rats, fosconazole did not affect the gastrointestinal absorption of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, anticoagulants, gastric secretion inhibitors, or hypoglycemic agents.
