Function and Efficacy
Papaverine has a direct nonspecific relaxant effect on blood vessels, heart, or other smooth muscles, which may be due to the inhibition of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase.
Appearance
This product is white tablets.
Indication
Used to treat ischemia caused by spasm of the brain, heart and peripheral blood vessels, and spasm of internal organs such as the kidneys, gallbladder or gastrointestinal tract.
Usage and Dosage
The usual oral dose for adults is 30 to 60 mg at a time, 3 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
1. Jaundice occurs after taking the drug, and the eyes and skin turn yellow, indicating liver damage. 2. Overdose may cause blurred vision, double vision, drowsiness or (and) weakness.
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients with complete atrioventricular block. It is generally contraindicated in patients with Parkinson's disease. The drug should be discontinued in the presence of hepatic insufficiency.
Drug Interactions
1. When used together with levodopa, the efficacy of the latter can be weakened. This product can block dopamine receptors. 2. When smoking, the efficacy of this product is reduced due to the effect of nicotine.
