Function and Efficacy
This product is a 4-azasteroid compound that is a specific inhibitor of the intracellular enzyme type II 5-reductase in the process of testosterone metabolism into the more powerful androgen dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostatic hypertrophy depends on the conversion of testosterone to DHT in the prostate. This product can very effectively reduce DHT in the blood and prostate. Finasteride has no affinity for androgen receptors.

Appearance
This product is a film-coated tablet, which is white or off-white after removing the coating.
Indication
This product is suitable for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). ————Improve symptoms; ————Reduce the risk of acute urinary retention; ————Reduce the risk of transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and prostatectomy.
Usage and Dosage
Oral. Recommended dose: 5 mg once a day, taken on an empty stomach or with food.
Adverse Reactions
1. Allergic reactions including itching, rashes, and swelling of the face and lips. 2. Testicular pain.
Precautions
1. This product is contraindicated for use by: pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, or those who are allergic to any of the ingredients in this product. 2. This product is not suitable for women and children.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: This product is not suitable for children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product is not suitable for women. It is not known whether finasteride is excreted from human breast milk. Precautions for the elderly: No clinical studies have been conducted on this product in elderly male patients to treat male pattern baldness.
Drug Interactions
No important drug interactions have been found clinically. Finasteride does not affect the drug-metabolizing enzyme system related to cytochrome P450. Drugs that have been studied in men include antipyrine, digoxin, glyburide, propranolol, theophylline, and warfarin, and no interactions have been found. Although no specific interaction studies have been conducted, in clinical studies, no important adverse interactions have been found when finasteride at a dose of 1 mg or more is used in combination with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, acetaminophen, receptor blockers, benzodiazepines, receptor blockers, calcium channel blockers, nitrates, diuretics, H2 receptor antagonists, hydroxy-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitors, prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors, and quinolones.
