Azithromycin Hydrochloride Injection

Function and Efficacy

The antibacterial spectrum of this product is similar to that of erythromycin, and its effect is stronger. It is 4 times stronger than erythromycin against Haemophilus influenzae and gonococci; 2 times stronger than Legionella; the MIC for most Gram-negative bacteria is less than 1μg/ml, and its effect on Clostridium is also stronger than erythromycin, and it is more effective than erythromycin in the treatment of Staphylococcus aureus infection. In addition, this product also has a good killing effect on Toxoplasma and Treponema pallidum.

Pelvic inflammatory disease caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Mycoplasma hominis, which requires intravenous drip treatment first. If anaerobic infection is suspected, anti-anaerobic drugs should be used in combination.

Not suitable for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Drug Interactions

Drug interaction studies are mainly focused on oral azithromycin. Antacids containing aluminum and magnesium can reduce the peak plasma concentration of oral azithromycin, but do not reduce the AUC value. Oral azithromycin does not affect the plasma theophylline level or pharmacokinetics after a single intravenous dose of theophylline. Given that currently used macrolides can increase plasma theophylline concentrations, caution should be exercised when azithromycin and theophylline are used simultaneously, and plasma theophylline levels should be monitored. ppp Oral azithromycin does not affect the response time of prothrombin to a single dose of benzylpropion. However, caution should be exercised when azithromycin and benzylpropion are used simultaneously in patients, and attention should be paid to monitoring the prothrombin time. Because in clinical practice, the simultaneous use of macrolides and benzylpropion increases the efficacy of anticoagulants. It is recommended that patients be closely observed when azithromycin is used simultaneously with the following drugs: Digoxin - increases digoxin levels. Ergotamine or dihydroergotamine - symptoms of acute ergot toxicity are severe peripheral vasospasm and dysesthesia (pain to touch). Triazolam - enhances the pharmacological effect of triazolam by reducing its degradation. Cytochrome P450 system metabolites - increase the levels of carbamazepine, terfenadine, cyclosporine, cyclohexylbarbital, phenytoin, etc. in serum.
