Function and Efficacy

1. Anti-inflammatory effect 1.1. Anti-allergic effect Glycyrrhizic acid glycoside has anti-allergic effects such as inhibiting local allergic necrosis reaction (Arthus Phenomenon) of rabbits and inhibiting Schwartzman phenomenon (Shwartzman Phenomenon). For corticosteroids, it enhances the hormone's inhibitory effect on stress response and antagonizes the hormone's anti-granulation and thymic atrophy effects. It has no effect on the exudation of hormones. 1.2. Inhibitory effect on arachidonic acid metabolic enzymes Glycyrrhizic acid glycoside can directly bind to phospholipase A2, the initiator enzyme of the arachidonic acid metabolic pathway, and to lipoxygenase, which acts on arachidonic acid to produce inflammatory mediators, selectively inhibiting the phosphorylation of these enzymes and inhibiting their activation. 2. Immunomodulatory effect Glycyrrhizic acid has the following immunomodulatory effects in in vitro experiments (invitro): 2.1. Regulation of T cell activation; 2.2. Induction of interferon Y; 2.3. Activation of NK cells; 2.4. Promoting the differentiation of extrathymic T lymphocytes. 3. Inhibition of experimental hepatocyte damage In the rat hepatocyte cell line cultured in invitro, glycyrrhizic acid has the effect of inhibiting hepatocyte damage caused by carbon tetrachloride. 4. Promoting hepatocyte proliferation In vitro experiments on primary cultured hepatocytes of Wistar rats showed that glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid have the effect of promoting hepatocyte proliferation. 5. Inhibition of viral proliferation and inactivation of viruses In the dd strain mouse MHV (mouse hepatitis virus) infection experiment, the administration of glycyrrhizic acid can prolong their survival days. In the experiment of preventing the occurrence of vaccinia virus in rabbits, it has the effect of preventing the occurrence of acne; in the in vitro experiment, it has also been observed to inhibit the proliferation of herpes virus and the inactivation of viruses. It has been reported that glycine and methionine can inhibit the decrease in urine volume and sodium excretion caused by oral administration of glycyrrhizic acid to Wistar/KY rats.

Ingredients

Appearance

This product is a white film-coated tablet. After removing the coating, the tablet core is off-white to light yellow.

Indication

Treat chronic liver disease and improve abnormal liver function. Can be used to treat eczema, dermatitis and alopecia areata.

Usage and Dosage

Adults usually take 2-3 tablets at a time, and children take 1 tablet at a time, 3 times a day after meals. The dosage can be increased or decreased according to age and symptoms.

Adverse Reactions

When this preparation is used to treat chronic liver disease, 7 out of 107 cases (6.5%) had side effects in a double-blind trial. The main symptoms included decreased blood potassium in 2 cases (1.9%), increased blood pressure in 2 cases (1.9%), and abdominal pain in 2 cases (1.9%). 1. Important side effects Pseudoaldosteronism (frequency unknown): Pseudoaldosteronism symptoms such as hypokalemia, increased blood pressure, sodium and fluid retention, edema, decreased urine volume, and weight gain may occur. Therefore, during medication, full attention should be paid to observation (serum potassium value, etc.), and if abnormal conditions are found, medication should be stopped. In addition, symptoms of rhabdomyolysis such as fatigue, low muscle strength, muscle pain, limb cramps, and paralysis may occur. When elevated CK (CPK) and elevated myoglobin in blood and urine are found, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate treatment should be given. 2. Other side effects Body fluids and electrolytes: low serum potassium Circulatory system: increased blood pressure Others: abdominal pain, headache

Precautions

The following patients should not be given the drug: 1. Patients with aldosteronism, myopathy, hypokalemia (may aggravate hypokalemia and hypertension). 2. Patients with advanced liver cirrhosis who tend to have elevated blood ammonium (the methionine metabolites contained in this preparation can inhibit urea synthesis, thereby reducing the ability to handle ammonia).

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: There are no studies on pharmacology, toxicology or pharmacokinetics that differ from those for adults. For drug use, please refer to [Usage and Dosage] and [Precautions]. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women should be given the drug with caution after weighing the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Precautions for the elderly: Based on clinical application experience, the elderly are prone to adverse reactions of hypokalemia, so they need to be given with caution under close observation.

Drug Interactions

1. Attention should be paid when taking drugs together. 2. Drugs (loop diuretics, uric acid, furosemide, etc., thiazide and antihypertensive diuretics, trichloromethiazide, chlorthalidone, etc.) may cause hypokalemia (fatigue, low muscle strength), so pay full attention to observe the serum potassium value. 3. Mechanism and consequences: Diuretics can enhance the potassium excretion effect of glycyrrhizic acid contained in the preparation, which can further reduce serum potassium.
