o-Iodine [131I] Sodium Hippurate Injection
Function and Efficacy
After intravenous injection, this product immediately enters the kidney with the blood flow and is quickly cleared by the kidney. 80% of it is secreted by the renal tubules without reabsorption, and 20% is filtered by the glomerulus. The o-iodine hippurate sodium that passes through the nephron is flushed to the renal calyx and renal pelvis through the collecting duct and discharged into the bladder through the ureter. 30 minutes after intravenous injection, the amount of o-iodine hippurate sodium in the urine can reach 70% of the injected amount.

Indication
Tests of kidney and urinary system function.
Usage and Dosage
Renal function test: intravenous injection of 185~370kBq (5~10Ci), nephrography for 15~20 minutes, no preparation is required for the patient. Dynamic renal imaging: intravenous injection of 11.1~18.5MBq (0.3~0.5mCi), under normal circumstances, initially showing renal parenchyma, then the peripheral images gradually fade, and the radioactivity is concentrated in the renal pelvis. After about 15 minutes, the renal pelvis shadow also becomes significantly lighter, and the radioactivity is concentrated in the bladder.
Adverse Reactions
This product occasionally causes adverse reactions. The subjects may experience cold sweats, back pain, and in severe cases, collapse. In case of adverse reactions, the injection should be stopped and symptomatic treatment should be given.
