Fusidic acid cream

Fusidic acid is highly sensitive to various Gram-positive cocci associated with skin infections, especially Staphylococcus aureus, and is also effective against drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It also has a certain antibacterial effect on some Gram-negative bacteria. There is no cross-resistance with other antibiotics.

The main component of this product is fusidic acid. Its chemical name is: trans-16α-carboxy-3β,11β-dihydroxy-4β,8β,14α-trimethyl-18-demethyl-5β,10α-cholest-(17Z)-17(20),24-diene-21-oic acid hemihydrate.

This product is a white ointment with an emulsion base.

This product is suitable for various bacterial skin infections, mainly for skin infections caused by Gram-positive cocci, such as impetigo, furuncle, folliculitis, paronychia, barbae, hidradenitis, erythrasma, acne vulgaris, traumatic infection, eczema infection, ulcer infection, etc.

Apply to the affected area 2-3 times a day. The general course of treatment is 7 days. When treating acne, the course of treatment can be extended according to the needs of the condition.

The topical application of this product generally has no side effects, but occasionally there will be a slight irritation. The treatment of deep leg ulcers will be accompanied by pain, but usually there is no need to stop the drug. Rare adverse reactions include jaundice, purpura, epidermal necrosis, angioedema, etc.

Those who are allergic to any ingredient of this product are prohibited from using.

Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of medication for pregnant and lactating women is not yet clear. Experiments have shown that fusidic acid can pass through the placental barrier and enter breast milk after absorption. Pregnant and lactating women should use it with caution.
