Hexamethylmelamine tablets

This product is a pyrimidine antimetabolite drug, which mainly inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, interferes with folic acid metabolism, and selectively inhibits the synthesis of DNA, RNA and protein. It is a cycle-specific drug and has no cross-resistance with alkylating agents.

The main ingredient of this product is hexamethylmelamine. Chemical name: 2,4,6-tris(dimethylamino)-s-triazine. Molecular formula: C9H18N6 Molecular weight: 210.28

This product is white tablets.

This product is used for combined chemotherapy of ovarian cancer, SCLC, malignant lymphoma, and endometrial cancer, and is particularly effective for ovarian cancer and SCLC.

1 Severe nausea and vomiting are dose-limiting toxicities. Bone marrow suppression is mild to moderate, with a prominent decrease in white blood cells. It usually occurs after one week of treatment and reaches its lowest point in 3 to 4 weeks. 2 Central or peripheral neurotoxicity occurs after long-term use and is a dose-limiting toxicity. It can be alleviated or disappear after stopping the drug for 4 to 5 months. 3 Occasionally, there may be hair loss, cystitis, rash, itching, weight loss, etc.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.

Combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and antidepressants can cause severe orthostatic hypotension and should be used with caution. Combination with metoclopramide can cause dystonia. Simultaneous use with vitamin B6 may reduce peripheral neurotoxicity.
