Budesonide aerosol

Budesonide is a glucocorticoid with highly effective local anti-inflammatory effects. It can enhance the stability of endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells and lysosomal membranes, inhibit immune responses and reduce antibody synthesis, thereby reducing the release and activity of allergic-active mediators such as histamine, and can reduce the enzymatic process stimulated by antigen-antibody binding, inhibit the synthesis and release of bronchial contraction substances and reduce the contraction response of smooth muscles. Acute, subacute and long-term toxicity studies have found that the systemic effects of budesonide, such as weight loss, lymphoid tissue and adrenal cortex atrophy, are weaker than or equivalent to other glucocorticoids. After evaluation in six different test systems, budesonide has no mutagenic effect or carcinogenic effect.

This product is a light yellow to grayish white suspension liquid. The liquid medicine is filled in a pressure-resistant aluminum bottle. When the push button of the valve is pressed, the liquid medicine is sprayed out in mist.

Used for patients with bronchial asthma and asthmatic chronic bronchitis that are non-glucocorticoid-dependent or dependent.

The dosage of budesonide aerosol should be individualized. In patients with severe asthma and those who have stopped or reduced the use of oral corticosteroids, the initial dose of budesonide aerosol is: Adults: 200-1600 μg per day, divided into 2-4 times (200-800 μg per day for milder cases and 800-1600 μg per day for more severe cases). Generally, 200 μg is taken once, once in the morning and once in the evening, for a total of 400 μg per day; in severe cases, 200 μg is taken once, 4 times a day, for a total of 800 μg per day. Children aged 2-7 years: 200-400 μg per day, divided into 2-4 times. Children over 7 years old: 200-800 μg per day, divided into 2-4 times.

The following adverse reactions may occur with this product: 1. Mild throat irritation, cough, and hoarseness; 2. Candida infection of the oropharynx; 3. Rapid or delayed allergic reactions, including rash, contact dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, and bronchospasm; 4. Psychiatric symptoms, such as tension, restlessness, depression, and behavioral disorders.

Patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine are contraindicated.

Precautions for children: Children under 2 years old should use it with caution or not at all. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: No adverse effects on the embryo and newborn have been found when using inhaled budesonide during pregnancy. It is not known whether budesonide can enter breast milk, but it should be used with caution. Compared with oral glucocorticoids, the systemic effect of inhaled glucocorticoids is lower when the equivalent dose is reached for anti-asthma. Precautions for the elderly: It is not clear yet.

1. There are no reports of clinically significant interactions between budesonide and other asthma treatment drugs. 2. Ketoconazole and cimetidine can affect the metabolism of budesonide in the body, but there is no obvious clinical significance at the recommended inhaled dose.
