Methanol appears as a colorless fairly volatile liquid with a faintly sweet pungent odor like that of ethyl alcohol. Completely mixes with water. The vapors are slightly heavier than air and may travel some distance to a source of ignition and flash back. Any accumulation of vapors in confined spaces, such as buildings or sewers, may explode if ignited. Used to make chemicals, to remove water from automotive and aviation fuels, as a solvent for paints and plastics, and as an ingredient in a wide variety of products.

We have won some prizes since founded nearly two decades. We got Silver Prize for Science and Technology Progress in Tianjin (Hebei District) in 1998. By jointly carrying out the Key Projects in the National Science & Technology Support Plan in the 11th Five-year Plan Period since 2007, we have undertaken systematic research for three years on the preparation of high purity organic solvents and the common key technology for industrialization, this project won the year 2013 AQSIQ "Technology Seized Award" . We have been named as Excellent Private Science & Technology Enterprise many times because of applying for 55 items of national patents and have obtained 18 items of science and technology achievements until 2014. We were responsible for drafting the HPLC methanol and HPLC acetonitrile national industry standards, which is according to our enterprise standards. Those two standards were approved to be national chemical reagent standards by Chemical Reagent Branch Commission of National Standardization Technical Administration in 2012. Concord was awarded the National High-Tech Enterprise in 2013.
In 2014 December, as a research partner in 4 companies research group, Concord won the national science and technology progress second prize with the project of “Purification and Detection Reagent for the Study and Application of Key Technologies in Trace Analysis”.
