The dye industry is used for the synthesis of organic intermediates and auxiliaries for the preparation of sulphur dyes. The tanning industry is used for hair removal and tanning of raw hides, as well as wastewater treatment. The chemical fertilizer industry is used to remove the monomer sulfur in the Chemicalbook desulfurizer of activated carbon. Is the manufacture of ammonium sulfide and pesticide ethyl mercaptan semi-finished raw materials. The mining industry is heavily used in copper ore dressing. Used for sulfurous acid dyeing and other aspects in the production of artificial fiber.

Experimental Properties:Needles of flakes, mp 55 °C. Completely and rapidly soluble in water, alcohol, ether /DIHYDRATE/.|Shiny rhombs, mp 22 °C/TRIHYDRATE/.|When exposed to air, sodium hydrosulfide undergoes autoxidation and gradually forms polysulfur, thiosulfate, and sulfate. It also absorbs carbon dioxide, forming sodium carbonate.
Air and Water Reactions:The solution continuously and slowly evolves gaseous hydrogen sulfide. Rate of evolution is increased by acids.
