It is a member of (trifluoromethyl)benzenes, a monocarboxylic acid amide, a member of monofluorobenzenes, a nitrile, a sulfone and a tertiary alcohol.|Bicalutamide is an oral non-steroidal anti-androgen for prostate cancer. It is comprised of a racemic mixture that is a 50:50 composition of the (R)-bicalutamide and (S)-bicalutamide enantionmers. Bicalutamide binds to the androgen receptor.|Bicalutamide is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen similar in structure to flutamide that is used widely in the therapy of prostate cancer and has been linked to rare instances of liver injury.
