Product description:Gluconic acid is also known as dextro-gluconic acid. Under the action of weak oxidants or enzymes, the aldehyde group in the molecule is oxidized to a carboxyl group to form a sugar acid. Its 6-Chemicalbook phosphate is an intermediate in the oxidative decomposition of glucose in the body (pentose phosphate pathway). It forms a soluble salt with metal ions such as calcium and zinc, which can be used as a nutrient and medicine.Melting point 15 °C alpha D20 -6.7° (c = 1) Boiling point 102 °C density 1.23 refractive index 1.4161 storage temp.
