Oligopeptide-68 – is a complex combination of TGF-ß agonist peptide that inhibits Microphtalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF). MITF is a major transcriptional regulator of melanogenic enzymes, tyrosinase, TRP-1 and TRP-2.

Oligopeptide-68 is a skin-brightening peptide, it is claimed to have a unique mechanism of action on lightening both constitutive (our default skin color) and facultative (such as tanning) pigmentation. Oligopeptide-68 works by inhibiting Microphtalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF).  MITF is a major transcriptional regulator of melanogenic enzymes, tyrosinase, TRP-1 and TRP-2. Oligopeptide-68 induces significant skin lightening shown to have a higher activity than Arbutin and vitamin C.

Oligopeptide-68 is a new type of whitening material, inspired by the role of TGF-β and MITF in the formation of melanin. Its unique mechanism is that oligopeptide-68 mimics the binding of TGF-β to receptors on the cell surface, and reduces induced and hereditary pigmentation by inhibiting the intramolecular channel of MITF to achieve the effect of whitening and brightening the skin.
