It has strict stereospecificity for N-carbamoyl-D-amino acids and does not act upon the corresponding L-amino acids or on the N-formyl amino acids, N-carbamoyl-sarcosine, -citrulline, -allantoin and -ureidopropanoate, which are substrates for other amidohydrolases.
