Melting Point:146 °C
Boiling Point:-27 °C
Flash Point:-58.1±25.9℃
Refractive Index:1.310
Water Solubility:Exothermic reaction with water to form water soluble trifluoroacetic acid and byproduct HCl.
Storage Conditions:Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage. Contents under pressure.
Vapor Pressure:72 psia at 25 °C (3273 mm Hg)
Vapor Density:4.6 (vs air)
Flammability characteristics:Decomposes toxic hydrogen chloride and hydrogen fluoride gas in water
Odor:Pungent odor
Henrys Law Constant:4.50e-04 atm-m3/mole
Experimental Properties:Reacts avidly with water and with moisture in the air to give fumes of hydrogen chloride, a water-soluble toxic gas.|Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, alcohols, amines, alkalis. Reacts vigorously with amines and alkalis. May react vigorously or explosively if mixed with diisopropyl ether or other ethers in the presence of trace amounts of metal salts.
Air and Water Reactions:Reacts avidly with water and with moisture in the air to give fumes of hydrogen chloride, a water-soluble toxic gas.
