Niacinamide, also known as nicotinamide, vitamin B3 or vitamin PP, is a water-soluble vitamin belonging to the B group vitamins. An amine and amide. Acts as a weak base in solution. Amines are chemical bases. They neutralize acids to form salts plus water. These acid-base reactions are exothermic.
