- Appearance: (S)-(+)- Citronellyl bromide is a colorless to light yellow liquid.
- Density: about 0.985 g/cm³.
- Refractive index: about 1.469.

Purpose:
-(S)-(+) -citronellyl bromide can be used as a chiral reagent in organic synthesis for the synthesis of biologically active compounds.

Preparation:
- Generally, citronellyl bromide can be obtained by the reaction of phenylmagnesium bromide with citronellyl alcohol. Reaction conditions can be carried out in an inert solvent (such as ether), usually at low temperatures.
