Trimethylhydroquinone and isophytol are two intermediates for the synthesis of vitamin E. Currently, trimethylhydroquinone on the world market is mainly produced by BASF of Germany and Roche of Switzerland, which is far from meeting the demand for vitamin E. At present, only a few companies of 2,3,5 trimethylhydroquinone are in production in my country. my country has become the second largest feed producer in the world. If the amount of vitamin E added to animal feed is added according to the average foreign level, the annual consumption Vitamin E is nearly 2000t. According to my country's feed industry planning, the feed demand for synthetic vitamin E in 2005 is approximately 2,500 tons. In addition, my country’s demand for Chemicalbook vitamin E in medicine, food, cosmetics, etc. will also grow steadily in the future. Therefore, in the past ten years or even twenty years, the future market of 2,3,5-trimethylhydroquinone will not be saturated. The development of this project has broad application prospects. Vitamin E is not only used as an additive in medicine, feed, food, and cosmetics, but is also increasingly used in industry, such as as an industrial antioxidant and a non-toxic, biodegradable stabilizer in polyolefins. At present, the demand for vitamin E in domestic and foreign markets has increased sharply.
