2-ethylhexyl alcohol is used to be called octanol in the plasticizer neighborhood, which is an important chemical raw material. Foreign octanol in addition to the production of plasticizers, but also the production of octanol acrylate or used as surfactants, mainly used to produce: Dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dioctyl glyoxate (DOA), trioctyl trimelate (TOTM), other plasticizers, octyl acrylate, surfactants, bone oil additives, mining, diesel fuel additives, solvents and dispensations, rust inhibitor esters, other chemicals. Octanol itself is a useful solvent, defoamator, dispersant, lubricant, and its series products are mainly plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate and octyl acrylate. Dioctyl phthalate produced from octyl alcohol is the main plasticizer of PVC, and the consumption of PVC accounts for about 95% of its total consumption.
