Astaxanthin is a non vitamin A derived carotenoid that cannot be converted into Chemicalbook vitamin A in animal bodies. Astaxanthin is a lipid soluble and water-soluble pigment found in marine organisms such as shrimp, crabs, salmon, and algae. The human body is unable to synthesize astaxanthin on its own. It is the strongest antioxidant in nature. Its antioxidant activity is 550 times that of vitamin E and 10 times that of beta carotene, hence it is known as the "king of antioxidants"!
