Purpose:
N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,2,3, 6-tetrahydrophthalimide is commonly used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.

Preparation:
Preparation of N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,2,3, 6-tetrahydrophthalimide is usually obtained by reacting 1,2,3, 6-tetrahydrophthalic anhydride with 2-hydroxyethyl amine under suitable reaction conditions.
