Boron (B) has two stable isotopes, 10B and 11B, which occur in abundance in nature at about 19.8% and 80.2%. Borate-10b has a very strong absorption capacity for neutrons, and is widely used in nuclear power, military equipment, modern industry and medicine. Among them, the enrichment of borate-10b as a good neutron absorber used in the nuclear industry, compared with the natural abundance of boric acid has a very significant Chemicalbook advantage: it can greatly increase the concentration of 10B in the reactor cooling system and reduce the overall amount of boric acid. Related studies have shown that the benefits of increased 10B concentration are: enhanced reactor capacity, increased use of MOX fuel (mixed oxide), increased cycle and combustion cycles, reduced fuel consumption per cycle, and significantly reduced liquid waste disposal costs, final fuel requirements, and intermediate and final storage costs.
