  (S)-Equol is supplied as a crystalline solid. A stock solution may be made by dissolving the (S)-equol in an organic solvent purged with an inert gas. (S)-Equol is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, DMSO, and dimethyl formamide. The solubility of (S)-equol in these solvents is approximately 15 mg/ml. (S)-Equol is sparingly soluble in aqueous buffers. For maximum solubility in aqueous buffers, (S)-equol should first be dissolved in ethanol and then diluted with the aqueous buffer of choice. (S)-Equol has a solubility of approximately 0.1 mg/ml in a 1:10 solution of ethanol:PBS (pH 7.2) using this method. We do not recommend storing the aqueous solution for more than one day.

Pattern hair loss

Dutasteride is approved for the treatment of male androgenetic alopecia in South Korea at a dosage of 0.5 mg per day.
It has been found in several studies to improve hair growth in men more rapidly and to a greater extent than 2.5 mg/day
finasteride. Dutasteride has also been used off-label in the treatment of female pattern hair loss.

In those who are being regularly screened, 5α-reductase inhibitors such as finasteride and dutasteride reduce the overall
risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer; however, there is insufficient data to determine if they have an effect on the
risk of death and may increase the chance of more serious cases

Excessive hair growth

Although no reports specific to dutasteride currently exist,5α-reductase inhibitors like finasteride have been found to be
effective in the treatment of hirsutism (excessive facial and/or body hair growth) in women. In a study of 89 women with
hyperandrogenism due to persistent adrenarche syndrome, finasteride produced a 93% reduction in facial hirsutism
and a 73% reduction in bodily hirsutism after 2 years of treatment. Other studies using finasteride for hirsutism have
also found it to be clearly effective.[2] Dutasteride may be more effective than finasteride for this indication due to the
fact that its inhibition of the 5α-reductase enzyme is comparatively more complete.
