Lithium orotate is also known as vitamin B13. It is obtained from water as white, shiny needle-shaped crystals or crystalline powder, odorless and sour. Melting point 345-346℃. It is insoluble in cold water and ethanol, slightly soluble in hot water. It reacts with hydrogen peroxide and concentrated hydrochloric acid to form 5-chlorouracil-4-carboxylic acid. It can be synthesized from diethyl oxalate and ethyl acetate to diethyl butyrate, which can be obtained by cyclization with urea and hydrolysis. It is used in medicine to treat jaundice and general liver dysfunction.

Application

White to light yellow solid. Melting point 78-80℃. Sweet, roasted, bready, cooking, fruity and caramel aroma. Soluble in ethanol. Natural product exists in fresh pineapple and beef soup, etc.

Storage conditions :
