Description

Product 3g of pure chromium powder and 30g of iodine purified by sublimation are added to the two ends of the ultra-hard glass reaction tube that is slightly shrunken in the center. After evacuating to 0.0133Pa, both ends are sealed. The chromium part is heated to 475℃, and the iodine part is 225℃, and the reaction is allowed to proceed for about 24h (internal pressure is about 303975Pa). After cooling, the chromium part is heated at 100℃ to drive out the iodine. Next, the reaction tube is cut in half in a dryer, and the chromium part is depressurized to remove all the iodine. The reaction is carried out quantitatively. If further purification is required, the product can be placed in a quartz tube and heated at 500℃ for several hours while evacuating the vacuum to become chromium diiodide. Then, it is placed in a vacuum, purified by sublimation at 700℃, and iodinated by the previous method.Detail
