DescriptionECHEMI Editorial ReferenceEthyl (triphenylphosphoranylidene)acetate is a common Wittig reagent in organic synthesis as well as a cholinesterase inhibitor that inhibits both AChE and BChE. It is used in the preparation of indole from o-nitrobenzaldehydes, coumarins from o-hydroxy acetophenone.
