KETOPROFENO

Ketoprofen (KP), also known as ketoprofen, ibuprofen, or ProfenidOrudis, is an excellent 2-arylpropionic acid nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Its chemical name is α - methyl-3-benzoylphenylacetic acid. Since its first listing in France and the UK in 1972, it has a history of over 40 years. Mainly by reversibly inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COXs) pro-inflammatory peptides and/or lipoxygenase (LOXs), the biosynthesis of inflammatory substances such as prostaglandins (PGs), leukotrienes (LTs), and thromboxanes (TXs) is inhibited, reducing the release of bradykinin and exerting its good antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory effects. It also has a certain inhibitory effect on platelet adhesion and aggregation reactions. It is widely used in clinical practice to treat various types of rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis pain, rheumatoid arthritis, as well as dysmenorrhea, toothache, postoperative pain, cancer pain, and acute renal colic pain. Clinical studies have shown that ketoprofen, as an important nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, has significant advantages compared to similar drugs, such as low dosage, high efficacy, good tolerance, and mild toxic side effects. At present, ketoprofen preparations on the domestic market mainly include enteric coated capsules, sustained-release capsules, sustained-release tablets, gel, liniments, suppositories and patches.
