----------PRODUCT INFORMATION----------

Chemical properties: Colorless liquid. Melting point -122.8 ℃, boiling point 46.60 ℃ (47.2 ℃), relative density 0.897 (15/4 ℃), refractive index 1.3884, flash point 18 ℃, miscible with alcohols and ethers, soluble in about 300 parts of water. The use is in organic synthesis, production of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, etc. Application: Used in organic synthesis, pesticide, and pharmaceutical intermediate production methods. It is obtained by reacting n-propanol with hydrochloric acid. Dissolve anhydrous zinc chloride in hydrochloric acid and slowly add n-propanol while stirring. After adding, reflux the reaction and evaporate the generated chloropropane until all chloropropane is evaporated at 115-120 ℃. The distilled crude product is washed with industrial sulfuric acid, water, 10% sodium carbonate, and then washed with water. After drying with calcium chloride, it is fractionated and the 44.6-47.5 ℃ fraction is collected to obtain the finished product. In addition, chloropropane can also be prepared by reacting n-propanol with phosphorus pentachloride.
