    2. Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), is an organic compound, chemical formula C5H12O, colorless transparent liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, is an excellent high octane gasoline additive and antiknock agent.

    Purpose:
    - Neutral solvent: methyl tert-butyl ether is often used as a neutral solvent in the chemical industry and can dissolve many organic compounds.
    - Gasoline additives: methyl tert-butyl ether is added to gasoline, which can improve combustion efficiency and knock resistance, help reduce exhaust emissions, and improve the impact resistance of gasoline.

    1. Application:

    MTBE used as a gasoline additive to increase the octane number, and can also be cracked to produce isobutylene, used as a gasoline additive, with excellent anti-knock properties.
