‌2-EH (2-ethylhexanol) is a colorless, transparent, oily liquid, mainly used in the production of chemical products such as plasticizers and surfactants‌‌.

‌Chemical properties‌: soluble in most organic solvents, slightly soluble in water, can form azeotropes with water, and can be miscible with various organic solvents such as alcohol.

2-Ethylhexanol mainly used as a raw material for PVC plasticizers. Used as a solvent and preservative. Octanol is mainly used in the manufacture of phthalate esters and aliphatic dibasic ester plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate and dioctyl sebacate, etc. Plastic primary plasticizers and cold-resistant plasticizers, defoamers, dispersants, mineralizers, and petroleum fillers are also used in printing, dyeing, and filming.
