D escription

Clostridium butyricum is a strictly anaerobic endospore-forming gram-positive butyrid acid. The first clostridium butyricum strain was isolated from the feces of Dr. Chikaji Miyairi in Japan in 1933. In 1935, Dr. Kingi Miyairi of the Russian Institute of Microbiology isolated clostridium butyricum from soil and human feces. Later, Kingi found that the filtrate contained a few fatty acids, which could inhibit pathogenic bacteria and promote the growth of bifidobacterium, lactobacillus and other beneficial bacteria in the intestine.

In 1992, the Institute of Microbiology Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences introduced clostridium butyricum from Russian Institute of Microbiology and cultivated it in China.

Function

Promote the proliferation of intestinal mucosal cells, repair damage, and enhance intestinal barrier function. Regulate intestinal flora, inhibit the growth of pathogens, promote the colonization of beneficial bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria, and improve flora imbalance.

Feature

1.Strict Anaerobe：Clostridium butyricum thrives in the anaerobic environment of poultry and livestock intestines, aligning perfectly with gut conditions. 2.Bioactive Production： · Rapid reproduction (generation time: 15 min), long-term colonization in the gut. · It serves as the primary energy source for intestinal mucosal cells, repairing the intestinal barrier and reversing increased mucosal permeability. · Superior to lactic acid bacteria in preventing/treating enteritis and promoting secondary digestion.

3.Spore-Forming & Resilient： · Heat-tolerant (suitable for pellet feed production). · Resists gastric acid, digestive enzymes, and bile salts without losing efficacy.

4.Antibiotic Compatibility： · Tolerant to common antibiotics (e.g., β-lactams, chloramphenicols/florfenicol, polymyxins, aminoglycosides, bacitracin zinc). · Enables flexible use alongside antibiotic treatments.

Aquatic Animals：

1.Water Quality Management: · Thrives in low-oxygen pond bottoms; degrades sludge, leftover feed, and feces. · Reduces COD, eliminates odors, and stabilizes water ecology.

2.Gut Health: · Promotes beneficial bacteria; suppresses harmful microbes. · Reduces enteritis, shrimp "white feces syndrome," and early mortality syndrome (EMS).

3.Nutrient Utilization: · Produces B/K vitamins, amylase, protease, and glycosidases. · Enhances fat/protein digestion, supports liver function, and prevents "empty gut and stomach" in shrimp.

4.Tissue Repair & Immunity: · It protects hepatocytes. · Boosts stress resistance and feed efficiency.

Prospect

Clostridium butyricum can produce metabolites in the intestines, improving gastrointestinal function. As a new feed additive, Clostridium butyricum is the first choice for inhibiting pathogens, protecting intestinal health, and improving animal production performance. In the context of global ban on antibiotics, reducing the abuse of antibiotics and improving animal health are of great significance.
