What is MOTS-c？

MOTS-c: (human) belongs to one of the mitochondrial derived peptides (MDP). The main physiological function is to promote the biosynthesis of endogenous AMP analogue AICAR, thereby promoting AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), and enhancing the induction of glucose uptake by cells and improving insulin sensitivity.
