Compared with teriparatide, abapatide can better reduce the fracture rate and the incidence of hypercalcemia. abaloparatide, a polypeptide, is a selective activator of the parathyroid hormone receptor (PTH1 receptor). Due to its excellent osteogenic activity, drugs made from abaloparatide have been advanced in clinical development for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures.
