CFAME Chlorinated Fatty Acid Methyl Ester

Stabilized chlorinated esters (CEs), specifically those derived from esters of palm kernel, palm, and coconut oils, act as viable replacements for chlorinated paraffins (CPs) as secondary plasticizers lowering usage levels of more expensive phthalates while exhibiting improved thermal stability, compatibility, and efficiency in mechanical properties in general purpose polyvinyl chloride (PVC). In addition, due to environmental concerns surrounding chlorinated paraffins, the case to use CEs as a viable replacement for CPs as secondary plasticizers in PVC is only strengthened due to their relatively low toxicity and good biodegradability.

Uses:

Methyl pentachlorostearate (26638-28-8) Uses: Used in electric wires, oil-resistant hoses and other products. It is used as auxiliary plasticiser for PVC, with good electrical properties, mechanical properties, oil resistance and water resistance.
