1.In pesticide industry, used for producing  intermediates of 2,4 Dichloro Phenoxyacetic Acid(2,4-D), glycine, glyphosate, Naphthalene Acetic Acid(NAA), Dimethoate etc.

2.Used for making Carboxymethyl Cellulose(CMC).

3.In pharmacy industry, used for producing the pharmaceutical intermediates of Synthetic caffeine, Epinephrine, Aminoacetic Acid, Vitamin B6, Aureomycin etc.

4. In the  dye industry, used for producing indigo and amino acetic acid.
