2. 2.Activating the "Factory's" Master Switch: When MT-1 (the key) binds to the MC1 receptor (the lock), it triggers a cascade of complex chemical reactions inside the cell, equivalent to pressing the master switch of the "melanin production line."

3. 3.Synthesis and Transport of Melanin:

   • Production: Once the master switch is on, the melanocyte "factory" operates at full capacity, synthesizing a pigment called melanin (brown/black-brown) at a rate far exceeding normal.

   • Packaging and Transport: The newly produced melanin is packaged into small vesicles called "melanosomes."

   • Distribution: The cell then "injects" or transfers these packages to the surrounding skin cells (keratinocytes) via arm-like structures called "dendrites."

   • 4.Final Manifestation of Skin Color: As skin cells naturally turnover, these melanin-filled cells gradually move towards the skin's surface. When a large number of cells carrying melanin gather in the epidermis, the skin's appearance turns bronze, tan, or even darker.
