Semaglutide is a GLP-1 analogue that lowers blood glucose levels by mimicking the action of GLP-1. Lysine at the 26th position connects the side chain of C-18 fatty acid with spacer group, which greatly enhances the hydrophilicity of the whole peptide chain and can be closely combined with albumin, so that its renal clearance rate is reduced and its degradation is slowed down.
